Doll Ioannina

The princes of Ioannina, with the exceptional flourishing of embroidery, jewelery and all kinds of craftsmanship, must wear one of the richest costumes in the Turkish-occupied Greece, with the costume of the Ali Pasha period as the culmination of luxury. According to the recording of Angeliki Hatzimichalis and her associate Tatiana Ioannou-Giannara, three variants of Jannie’s costume appear. The time limits that appeared or disappeared are not clear, since the transition is obviously progressive, while the changes are only about a few pieces of the costume, not total changes.
